With the recent chemical attacks in Syria, we as a Mosaic community invite you to step up. We as the Church have the most powerful voice in the world and we need to act. We have the sacred responsibility to “speak out on behalf of the voiceless, and for the rights of all who are vulnerable.” (Prov. 31:8-9)
This is a command, not a suggestion – and something that all followers of Christ are called to and entrusted with. We can't do this alone and want to invite you to be a part of what is happening.
Here's What You Can Do
Pray for the end of the war. Pray for our leaders to have wisdom in their decisions. Pray for the families that have been impacted, especially those who have been displaced and are seeking safety in the aftermath. Sign up to join the prayer team.
Contact an elected official. Take a few minutes to write them asking them to help Syrian refugees who are seeking safety in the US, especially women and children. You can easily find your congressman and senators and send them a message at Democracy.io
Join a Refugee Welcome Team. Our greatest impact as a Church acting as the hands and feet of Jesus is now, while needs are greatest. We have Refugee Welcome Teams that help refugees resettle in the LA area. Sign up to join the next one.
Mosaic is also putting on youth camps for refugee children here in Los Angeles and in Lebanon that use arts in trauma therapy. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to find out about sponsoring a child to attend.
Join the #LOVESYRIA campaign and donate to help us partner with World Vision to bring relief to those suffering in Syria. Give Now.
